Besides the principle of towing a ground-gliding sprayer behind a tractor, compact sprayers could also be carried in the hitch of a tractor. Toolbars are normally equipped with up to max. 18 sensors, which means 18 meters of driving width can be sprayed in one go. This is a good and affordable option for especially the relatively smaller farming businesses as the driving vehicle (tractor) can be used for other options besides spraying, and a smaller working width that can get the job done in the given time frame also means a lower initial investment. Very important factors for a toolbar are stability: the hitch and stabilizer wheels of the toolbar should be fit for the job. Also the soil type and hilliness of the ground on which the toolbar is applied are important to take into account. Cracks in the soil and lots of hills obviously result in more swing in the toolbar itself.
