Across the globe, climate and agricultural terrain conditions vary enormously. For spraying, since a long time, trailed boom sprayers are used in most agricultural hotspots in the world. These machines have a relatively simple design and are a much cheaper solution for farmers, as the driving vehicle is not dedicated to the sprayer only, as is the case for self-propelled sprayers. Another advantage is the constant height between the ground and the framework due to the ground-gliding wheels. This is perfect for a WEEDit add-on, as a relatively constant height of the sensor and nozzles towards the ground is an important factor for good spraying results. Furthermore, adding some weight to a ground-glider is a less important issue than it is for a SP sprayer. This is why the ground-gliding WEEDit system is widely adopted in for instance Australia.
