Who is Rometron

Rometron develops, produces and distributes WEED-IT©, a market leading, innovative precision technology to detect and treat plants. Through highspeed and high precision detection of chlorophyl, crop protection agents and fertilizers are only applied where needed. The application is modulated through Rometron’s own PWM technology, that ensures a high accuracy. This technology leads to significant savings on chemicals and fertilizers. In its 25 years of existence, Rometron has constantly perfected the WEED-IT technology in close collaboration with the growing worldwide customer base, which consists of broad acre, row crop and specialty crops farmers. The customers are being served through a dedicated international network of distributors and dealers.

Rometron prides itself on its innovative, young, yet professional staff of 40. However international demand for out technology is growing, so we are constantly looking to expand the team. Therefore we are looking for a dedicated International Sales Manager with an affinity with cutting edge agricultural technology.

Tasks and responsibilities

The International Sales Manager develops the business and distributor/dealer network. The International Sales Manager reports to the sales director.

  • Be the first Rometron point of contact for the distributors/dealers
  • Analyze market data and create an action plan for follow up actions
  • Identify market trends and report relevant information to Rometron
  • Compile annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
  • Execute and follow up on Quarterly Business Meetings with distributors
  • Develop dealer network
  • Develop growth strategy for new regions
  • Visit customers with distributor/dealers
  • Develop sales strategies together with the distributors/dealers
  • Develop marketing campaigns, including customers events
  • Be compliant to Rometron’s compliancy regulations

Skills and qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of farming and Smart Farming solutions
  • International working experience, cultural awareness and how to overcome cultural barriers
  • Senior negotiating and influencing skills
  • Decisive and convincing in decision making. Day-to-day decisions to be made individually, strategic and bigger decisions to be made in co-operation with Rometron sales management
  • Problem solving attitude: identify issues and make adequate and balanced solutions
  • Customer focus
  • Be able to make customer benefit calculations, including total cost of ownership calculations
  • Computer skills: administration and CRM
  • Numeracy skills, to analyze data and (sales) reports
  • Admin skills. Understand basics of administration, in order to work with admin personnel
  • Natural public speaking style
  • Near native in English, speaking and writing
  • Russian/Spanish preferred
  • Brand ambassador of the WEED-IT brand
  • Willingness to travel and spend up to 35% of working time abroad
  • Proven track record in establishing sales in assigned regions
